Australian Botanical Gardens, Cranbourne

Several members of WCC enjoyed an outing to the Australian Botanical Gardens in Cranbourne. The day threatened to be a dreary one-it was quite cold and wet when we departed, but by the time 10am rolled around, patches of blue sky were starting to emerge.

Inverloch Weekend Away 2024

The second weekend away for the year saw nine members and their families venture down to Inverloch. Although the number of attendees was lower compared to previous years, those who joined had a wonderful time, thanks to mostly good weather, which did not impact the planned events.

You Yangs Visit

Eleven members plus a couple of friends and family left a very sunny Melbourne to head to the You Yangs Regional Park. As we drew closer to our destination, we could see the low cloud hanging over the You Yangs and that’s the way it stayed all morning. We met at the Turntable car park before heading out to explore the area.

Light Painting at Altona Beach

It was a calm, clear and mild night that attracted a large number of members to Altona Beach for our light painting activity.  I got to the beach around 7.15pm which I thought was early and walked to our usual spot only to find a huge line of tripods with hardly a spot left.

The weekend of 10-12 May saw 20 Members and family head to Bright.  Although the Club has been to Bright before (not in my time) there is certainly plenty to see and photograph.

Trentham Spudfest 2024

On May 4th, members of the Williamstown Camera Club attended the vibrant Trentham Spudfest in Trentham, Victoria. This unique festival celebrates the region's rich potato farming heritage with a plethora of activities, and the photographers were there to capture every memorable moment.

Presentation: Image Evaluation

We will demonstrate image evaluation and then break into groups to practice. Members are welcome to bring a print with them to the meeting or send a digital image to president@williamstowncameraclub.com.au prior to the meeting.

Workshop: Paper Bag Challenge

We dive back into our Paper Bag Challenge. Members will break into teams and make images with a mystery item. Teams will be encouraged to take a variety of photos and amongst themselves select and edit their final entry... all in the space of a single meeting.

The images will then be presented and critiqued with a winning image selected by all in attendance.
