Mar 1st 10:00am | Photo Shoot | Blue Lotus Water Garden Outing A visit to the Blue Lotus Farm, Yarra Junction. Arrive early as parking is limited. There is a cafe inside the gardens or you can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it at one of the many sets of tables dotted around the location. Travel time is approx 1.5 hours from our meeting hall. May 31st 9:30am | Photo Opportunity | Fungi Hunt: Macedon Ranges We're hitting the Macedon Ranges to find some Fungi. Meet at Days Picnic Ground, Lions Head Road, Hesket (Mount Macedon) at 9:30am and from there we'll move to our assigned shoot locations. Due to government requirements we'll be breaking into groups of 10 people and people will be required to maintain social distancing throughout the day. We'll reschedule this event at a time when there is less risk to all. Apologies for to all of the awesome folks who had signed up to attend. Oct 27th 7:30pm | Judging | 6th Competition: Open & Set Subject: People Portraits Portraits are one of those subjects that everyone wants to do more of, but finding subjects to sit for us can be difficult, but we challenged our members to do exactly that for our 6th competition's set subject. How did they go? Entries due for the End of Year completion. Three digital images per person must have been entered in one of the previous six rounds of competition. While digital entries are required you may enter a digital version of a print entry from early in the year when we had print entries. The techniques used may surprise you... if you have done darkroom work before, some of it may be familiar. Nov 24th 7:30pm | Workshop | Paper Bag Challenge A little different this time around... we're going to give you a subject, an object that should be relatively easy to find in your home, and ask you to make an image containing the object as the subject. You can edit it as much as you like, but get it to us by the day before the meeting. We'll reveal the object a week or two ahead of the meeting so you have plenty of time to make your submission. Usually an annual event that takes place in our club rooms with the object being provided on the night and members having to, in groups, make an image for presentation at the end of the meeting. Dec 8th 6:30pm | Meeting | End of Year Presentation Night and Dinner We gather but once a year to feast and celebrate the year that has been. This year, because of the COVID restrictions, we're not able to plan our usual dinner at a restaurant as indoor dining will still be limited. But Gayle has come up with a plan. We're having a catered spit at Newport Lakes Reserve. The cost will be around $15 per person. Due to attendance limitations this will be a member's only event.
