We're hitting the Macedon Ranges to find some Fungi.

Meet at Days Picnic Ground, Lions Head Road, Hesket (Mount Macedon) at 9:30am and from there we'll move to our assigned shoot locations. Due to government requirements we'll be breaking into groups of 10 people and people will be required to maintain social distancing throughout the day.

This is the last location for toilets before we head further up the road to Lions Head Road Car Park.

Urgent Update

Our trip Pink Cliffs Reserve, Heathcote has now been postponed due to the increased risk of COVID-19.

We'll reschedule this event at a time when there is less risk to all.

Apologies for to all of the awesome folks who had signed up to attend. We look forward to sharing this experience with you when it is safe to do so.

An intriguing place. The "cliffs" were created from the mining activities in the area. It should be a fun day out.

Club favourite Tom Putt is taking us to the Prom. Tom will be coming along via Zoom to give us a presentation about Wilson's Promontory... one of the places we were scheduled to visit prior all of this lockdown thing happening. Instead we shall visit vicariously in what I am sure will be a fascinating presentation.

Andrew visited our club many years ago and shared his personal project of photographing his native Ballarat. Over the years his work has changed to incorporate drone aerial photography. Come along and see his beautiful work.

Portraits are one of those subjects that everyone wants to do more of, but finding subjects to sit for us can be difficult, but we challenged our members to do exactly that for our 6th competition's set subject. How did they go?

Entries due for the End of Year completion. 

Three digital images per person must have been entered in one of the previous six rounds of competition. While digital entries are required you may enter a digital version of a print entry from early in the year when we had print entries. Must be sent to competitions@williamstowncameraclub.com.au by midnight October 27 to be eligible.

Mr Markham will be taking us on an exploration of using photographic media to create photographs without a camera. The techniques used may surprise you... if you have done darkroom work before, some of it may be familiar. Come along and see what can be done with light, without the typical instrument we use to capture it.

A little different this time around... we're going to give you a subject, an object that should be relatively easy to find in your home, and ask you to make an image containing the object as the subject. You can edit it as much as you like, but get it to us by the day before the meeting. We'll reveal the object a week or two ahead of the meeting so you have plenty of time to make your submission.

Usually an annual event that takes place in our club rooms with the object being provided on the night and members having to, in groups, make an image for presentation at the end of the meeting.

Ahead of our end of year dinner and award presentation on December 8 we'll take a look at the year that was and review the images entered into our End of Year Awards. No announcements around winners will be made during this presentation, we'll hold this for dinner on the 8th. Join us via Zoom.

We gather but once a year to feast and celebrate the year that has been.

This year, because of the COVID restrictions, we're not able to plan our usual dinner at a restaurant as indoor dining will still be limited. But Gayle has come up with a plan. We're having a catered spit at Newport Lakes Reserve. The cost will be around $15 per person. Due to attendance limitations this will be a member's only event. 

We look forward to gathering once more, but note COVID Safe requirements will still be in place meaning masks will be required.
