2019 Knox Interclub Selections

Our Competitions Subcommittee met on June 4th for the purpose of making our club selections from the images submitted for consideration as entries into the 2019 Knox Interclub Competition.

During the selection process the Subcommittee checks the competition rules, including how many images are allowed per member in each category. We evaluate each submitted image according to standard judging criteria.

If we exhaust the submitted images, and find we do not meet the full quota of the images that are allowed to be selected for our club, we then go back through the images that have been entered into past club competitions to fill up the remaining spots for the Knox Interclub.

In particular we will look at the images submitted for our first competition of the year where the set subject was Monochrome, the main criteria for the Knox Interclub Competition.

The list of images selected to represent our club for 2019 are as follow, see the images in the gallery at the end of the article. Congratulations and thank you to those representing our club.

Presentation: Lighting Still Life with Chrisy Dennis

Member Chrisy Dennis will let us in on her process for creating beautiful still life images through lighting.

Chrisy's presentation will show two studio lighting styles for still life or table top subjects. She has made the images using studio lighting, however speedlights will work just as well. Chrisy's subject and background are the same in both styles. The effect is achieved using different styles of lighting.
