Port Campbell Weekend Away 2025

Port Campbell Weekend 2025 © Leo Loque

Our first Club weekend away saw us head down to Port Campbell. It was attended by 20 Members and family and it seemed to be enjoyed by all.

The itinerary started with the sunrise overlooking the 12 Apostles with some venturing down Gibsons Steps to watch it come over the cliffs. The colours and the sky were amazing as you will see from the images submitted. Most of the locations were along the coast extending from the 12 Apostles past Peterborough to Bay of Islands.

It was great meeting up for dinner at the Port Campbell Hotel for dinner where we exchanged stories about the locations we had visited as we all went at our own pace. There were a few Members who ventured out after dinner for some astrophotography, which was a lot of fun and learning how to approach it with the lenses we had available. The weather came to the party as we had no rain and interesting clouds.  Attending weekends away gives Members the opportunity to get to know our fellow Members which we don't get time to do at meetings.

Workshop: Paper Bag Challenge

We dive back into our Paper Bag Challenge. Members will break into teams and make images with a mystery item. Teams will be encouraged to take a variety of photos and amongst themselves select and edit their final entry... all in the space of a single meeting.

The images will then be presented and critiqued with a winning image selected by all in attendance.
