Online Meeting Via Zoom
We have decided to hold another meeting next Tuesday which was a designated meeting night via Zoom. Our thoughts are to commence the meeting at 7.30pm to go for approximately 1 1/2 hours. We are still organising the content. Members are encouraged to check their email for the link.
For those who are on the closed Facebook group, please read the post by the Club Admin in relation to the only four reasons for Victorians to leave their home. Please read down to the passage in bold. For those who are not, it reads as follows:
As per our government's requirements there are only four reasons for Victorians to leave their home:
- food and supplies,
- medical care and care giving,
- exercise, and
- work or education.
We understand there is some mixed messaging going around and things keep changing by the day but one thing is simple for us to understand... Going anywhere beyond your home for create photography works, unless in a professional capacity, is considered non-essential.
We would be remiss to not remind our members that you can be fined $1,652 for breaching the stay at home directive, and Police Victoria have been handing them out with gusto. You may also be fined if someone reports you after the fact, and let's face it, a photograph is pretty good proof that you might not have been where you were supposed to be.
For the sake of your family, neighbours, and society... And for the sake of your wallet, please stay at home during this period unless you're performing one of the activities above.
If you do go out and make photos during this time, please don't post them here as we don't want to be encouraging this activity, this includes photos you may have take while you were 'exercising'.
We appreciate it is a hard time for all, and staying at home can be tough... but I'm sure if you look at the work members are posting you'll see there's plenty of inspiration to be found right where you are.
Stay at home, stay safe, and help stop the spread.
The next meeting two weeks later will be the judging night with the judge doing a slideshow presentation.
Look forward to seeing your faces on Tuesday night. Stay safe and have a good Easter.
